Ryukyu Kempo Karate is an ancient Okinawa Life Protection System. Here at The Martial Arts Academy you will train traditional Okinawan weapons alongside open hand techniques, right from day one, so if you have ever wanted to learn, Bo staff, Tonfa, Tanbo, Sai, Nanchaku, Kama or many more, these classes are ideal for you. Ryukyu Kempo teaches the study and interpretation of Kata (forms or patterns) of pre-defined motions which contain the secrets of the old masters themselves. This class is for students aged 12 years and over. The class will run Thursdays at 4.30pm throughout the school term. The term fee per student is $120, with a 10% discount for additional family members. TMAA members on adult and youth memberships may attend these classes at no additional cost.
